Accessibility statement

We want every calculator to work for everyone, with a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom or a phone. Our target is WCAG 2.1 level AA.

What we do

  • Every page is checked with the axe-core automated accessibility engine (WCAG 2.1 A/AA and best-practice rules) in light mode, dark mode and at phone width before release.
  • All inputs have visible labels. Invalid entries are flagged with aria-invalid and never clear your results.
  • Calculators work entirely with a keyboard, with visible focus indicators. Wide tables become scrollable, focusable regions on small screens.
  • Plan drawings have text alternatives, and every number in a drawing is also shown in a table.
  • Animation plays once, and not at all if your system asks for reduced motion.

Known limitations

  • Plan drawings are summarized in text rather than fully described element by element.
  • Automated testing doesn’t catch everything. We haven’t yet done a manual audit with assistive-technology users.
